Senior Interior Designer

Job Summary

Delawie is seeking an experienced and talented Senior Interior Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to inspirational design within an existing interior design group. The successful candidate filling this position will:

  • Demonstrate a dedicated spirit towards client satisfaction through design excellence.
  • Have an engaging, client-centric approach to project delivery.
  • Possess an exceptional skillset for presentations and interviews.
  • Collaborate with firm Principals to align Interior Design with our firm culture and business strategies.
Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients to determine clients’ project goals and foster ongoing relationships.
  • Follow projects from inception through construction to maintain design quality and intent.
  • Manages projects of all sizes and levels of complexity and provides project team leadership.
  • Conducts programming efforts such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting, and color coordination.
  • Prepares and conducts client presentations.
  • Responsible for selection and specification of furniture, lighting, material selections, wall covering and artwork. Estimates material requirements and preliminary costs.
  • Writes FF&E specifications.
  • Supports the Construction Administration phase responding to RFI’s, Change Orders, and reviewing submittals.
  • Maintain knowledge of building regulations and safety codes.
  • Maintain project schedule and budget while providing a cohesive design.
  • Lead junior designers and responsible for delegating tasks leading to project completion.
  • Coordination with Project Managers and direct junior staff to produce quality design documentation.
  • Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff and deliver staff performance evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 10+ years of experience in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Accreditation/Registration/Licensure or Pursuing Accreditation/Registration/Licensure preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to create complete presentation packages is essential.
  • Proficiency in the basic technical skills of interior design including the following computer skills:
  • MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and SketchUp/or similar 3-D graphic software.
  • AutoCAD/Revit is desired.
  • Spexx.

Architectural Project Manager

Job Summary

Delawie is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to join our team in San Diego. The successful candidate will provide high-level project management duties from project inception through construction administration phases. The successful candidate filling this position will:

  • Demonstrate a dedicated spirit towards client satisfaction through service excellence.
  • Have strong communication skills to communicate with clients, consultants, and project team members.
  • Can navigate through several jurisdictions for project requirements and permitting.
  • Be comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to lead and mentor team of junior staff members.
Responsibilities
  • Develop project design schedules.
  • Estimate project staffing requirements.
  • Monitor and manage project staff work loads.
  • Manages projects of all sizes and levels of complexity and provides project team leadership.
Qualifications
  • Architectural license required.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in design/project management, with a focus on design and construction documents on a wide range of project types including hospitality, science & technology, corporate, and educational projects.
  • Leadership experience, including managing client expectations, multi-disciplinary team, and meeting scope/schedule/budget
  • Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements
  • Proficiency with Revit required.
  • In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp Modeling, MS Office, MS Project, and preparation of presentation materials.
  • Effective verbal and graphic communication, organizational and collaborative skills
  • Experience working directly with clients.

BIM Manager

Job Summary

Delawie is seeking an experienced Building Information Modeling (BIM) Manager with demonstrated experience in the design or construction industry. The position is full-time, on-site located in San Diego, CA. This leadership role will be responsible for directing the application of BIM software platforms across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide BIM and Technology Management for Delawie’s design projects across multiple offices.
  • Project startup and assist project teams with workflow and coordination strategies.
  • Manage BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud systems.
  • Model Production Oversight: Oversee the creation of project information models, integrating 3D visualizations, data, drawings, and schedules during the design and construction phases.
  • Investigate new BIM technology for adoption and implementation.
  • Familiarity with BIM standards such as USACE, NAVFAC, DSA, etc.
  • Investigate related technologies that would benefit Delawie in areas such as production, client presentations, office project management and project acquisition.
  • Develop and maintain BIM content regarding families, workflows, and project/office standards.
  • Review office projects to ensure that office-wide BIM documentation administration, especially naming conventions, office standards, and worksets composition are followed and that warnings and clashes are being resolved.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform the necessary research and exploration to develop BIM solutions that respond to the specific demands of a project.
  • Overall BIM file management, project file backup and model maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Hold a Bachelor of Architecture degree, or similar, and with a minimum of 8 years of experience post-education in an architectural design firm, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in the application and use of Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, and similar related software.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to provide effective supervision and implementation of technical protocols for internal and external team members.
  • Effective verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
  • Adept at problem solving and application of analytical skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, focused, accurate and able to manage workflows to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.

  • Work under the direction of a Senior Designer and Principal(s) and perform at a high level with limited oversight.
  • Collaborate with firm Principals to align Interior Design with our firm culture and business strategies.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing, directing, and coordinating projects, from conceptualization through development and execution in the field.
  • Follow projects from inception through construction to maintain design quality and intent.
  • Complete design of designated portions of the project as directed by the Senior Designer.
  • Participate in design presentations. Tasks may include developing design concepts, 3D modeling, elevation renderings, mood board creation, Revit drawings, image research, source materials and furniture, tear sheets, specification pages, sample boards, etc.
  • Review documents to ensure they incorporate the design intent.
  • Support and assist junior designers.
  • Assist with FF&E specifications.
  • Supports the Construction Administration phase responding to RFI’s, reviewing submittals, reviewing purchase orders, FF&E submittals, swatch submittals, etc.
  • May serve as the lead designer working directly with the Project Manager and/or Principal-in-Charge in specific situations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Accreditation/Registration/Licensure or Pursuing Accreditation/Registration/Licensure preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Basic knowledge of current building codes and accessibility requirements
  • Demonstrated conceptual approach to design.
  • Ability to create complete presentation packages is essential.
  • Excellent teamwork skills. Ability to work collaboratively with interior and architectural staff members throughout the firm.
  • Ability to support multiple projects
  • Proficiency in the technical skills of interior design including the following computer skills:

  • Proficiency in the technical skills of architectural design including the following computer skills:

    • Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, or similar 3-D graphic software.
  • Strong technical competency in Revit
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements
