P-2401 Child Development Center

Marine Corps Base
Camp Pendleton
Oceanside, California

Designed, 2023

Delawie led the design effort for this design-build pursuit, providing architectural design services for a Child Development Center at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The 4-building campus is cited on a gentle hillside and was configured to take advantage of prevailing breezes and expansive views while ensuring an efficient and secure environment.

Open for children ages between 6 weeks and five years, the space provides a nurturing environment with safety and welfare in mind. There are multiple infant, pre-toddler, toddler and pre-schooler play yards connected to their respective child activity rooms. Each child activity room provides space for children to eat, sleep, play and learn.

The CDC includes staff support space, staff lockers and an outdoor staff break area. The administrative offices and sick room offer direct access to the reception area and central courtyard.
